In Conversation with Manouchehr Ahadpour Khanghah – Chapter 4

Before they proceeded with their next questions, Amelia and Manouchehr Ahadpour took some time to talk about Amelia’s job, her interview experiences, and their daily life. By sharing and laughing together, a relaxed conversation was created.

Amelia: How do you attract investors?

Manouchehr Ahadpour Khanghah: In attracting investors, much trust and prospective attitude toward a vision attract an investor to your idea or proposal, providing there is some kind of strong plan available with potential in place for solid returns. That’s why I always try to stress at every stage the transparency of the whole process and underline not only the financial outcomes of our projects, but also the long-term positive changes that those projects will have for the community. It means showing them the big picture.

Amelia: How would you market your developments?

Mr. Manuchehr: I believe in keeping the marketing approach quite simple and clear. I emphasize using the visuals and illustrations to really show what will set each project apart in reality. That’s all about pointing out the stand-out features, which can be put forth in a pretty understandable manner that is good to look at for any prospective buyer/investor. The key is to communicate the value of the project without over-complicating the message so people can see exactly what they’re getting and why it’s special.

Amelia: How do you balance functionality and design?

Manuchehr Ahadpour: Well, balancing functionality and design means never letting the aesthetic appeal of space compromise its practical use. I work very closely with architects and designers to strike a balance. We aim to create spaces which are not only visually appealing but also function in the intention. It is a participatory process in which assuredly every design item enhances space’s workability, not just looking aesthetic but also functioning well with the people using it.

Amelia: So, how do aesthetics come into play in your projects then?

Manuchehr Ahadpur Khanghah: Aesthetics are very important since they give the overall impression and appearance of being well-received. It shouldn’t only be about beauty; the spaces should also be comfortable and inspiring.

Amelia: What about the challenges of urbanization?

Mr. Manouchehr: Urbenization is a bunch of both challenges and opportunities. I’m looking for those kinds of developments that will actually add value to the city-that will take into consideration community needs, environmental ones, and integrate sympathetically into the urban landscape. That’s about adding value, not just buildings.
